Alcraft Motor builds top-quality supply chain

Alcraft Motor Company is putting together the supply chain necessary to support the design and build of it first car, the high-performance electric Alcraft GT.

The virtual engineering process already undertaken alongside the design programme means that all major components and systems have been considered in detail.

As a result the company now has agreements in place with several global suppliers including Continental for safety systems and Michelin for tyres. In addition there are agreements with British partners, notably motor control specialist Sevcon and composite materials specialist KS Composites. The engineering partner is Delta Motorsport, based like Alcraft Motor Company at Silverstone.

“We’re very pleased to have so many world-leading companies involved with our project already,” says Alcraft Motor founder David Alcraft. “We’re committed to building a supplier and partner base within the UK wherever possible and are fortunate in having the UK’s technology cluster and F1’s ‘Motor Sport Valley’ on our doorstep.

“However, achieving the quality levels we’re after means that for some components and systems we inevitably have to turn to companies that are not British, and we’re absolutely delighted to be able to name Continental and Michelin at this stage in our development.”
